B i o g r a p h y

She began her studies with playing the piano, the cello and learning composing. At the age of twelve she started studying the oboe. At the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music in Budapest her teacher was János Kemény, at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest her professor was Péter Pongrácz and József Kiss. Between 2000 and 2002 she studied in Madrid at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with the guidance of professors Hansjörg Schellenberger and Víctor Manuel Ánchel. In 2012 she successfully finished her doctoral studies as well at the Doctoral Institute of the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. She had masterclasses with Nicholas Daniel and Maurice Bourgue.

 

She won 1st prize at the János Richter National Woodwind Competition in Győr, Hungary (1995), at the Lions Club International Music Prize for Oboe in Zürich (1997) and the 1st National Oboe Competition in Budapest (1998). She received an award from Artisjus for premiereing Hungarian contemporary works (1998) and the Juventus Award from the Hungarian State Opera House (2007). She was awarded at the Sándor Végh Competition in Budapest (2015).

 

Between 1998 and 2000 she worked as Principal Oboist at the MÁV Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, from 2002 on she's the Principal Oboist at the Hungarian State Opera House. From 2008 she regularly plays at the Budapest Festival Orchestra as well. In 2014 she became a member of the Quaartsiluni Ensemble. From September 2015 she is also the oboe professor at the Széchenyi University in Győr, Hungary.

 

She fluently speaks Hungarian, English, Spanish, Japanese and German.

 

She currently plays a Marigaux M2.
